Shem Creek is a deep water channel located on Charleston Harbor, just minutes from downtown, Sullivans Island and Isle of the Palms.


Originally, the creek was used for ship-building; today it is home to Charleston's shrimp trawler fleet, fresh fish markets and one-of-kind seafood restaurants. Shem Creek is truly a must see attraction when visiting the low-country.  

Surf Kayaks - These boats are designed for playing in the ocean, and are fun for the entire group.  We have various sizes to fit your needs. All Surf Kayak rentals come with free ground school instruction.

Barefoot Island Sports is located on Shem Creek of US - 17 Business (Coleman Blvd.) at 1 Shrimp Boat Lane adjacent to Mt. Pleasant Seafood.

Barefoot Island Sports offers both half-day and full-day rentals leaving from our private water dock   You can choose from a variety of boats, both single and double.  

We will also deliver boats to your rental home free of charge.

All rental prices include: boat, paddle and PFD
